Vs 1-3 Return to the Lord and put away your sins. Give up your favorite sins. All nations can find blessings and glory in and through Him. Break up your fallow ground. You hearts need to be softened. You need to be humble and contrite. Stop wasting your efforts among thorns.   Vs 14 O Jerusalem,  wash  thine heart from wickedness, that thou mayest be saved. Come Follow Me Lesson 42 Introduction: ‘Hear Him’ in Your Heart and in Your Mind Do you ever feel like you aren’t prepared to do what the Lord calls you to do? Jeremiah did. But the Lord reassured him that his preparation to be a prophet began before this world was. Think on that. verse 5 Before I  formed  thee in the belly I  knew  thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I  sanctified  thee,  and  I  ordained  thee a prophet unto the  nations . Will you set aside your fears and do what the Lord asks you to do? Jeremiah did. He warned Jerusalem’s kings and priests that their pretended holiness would not save them from destruction. The “child” who thought he could not speak came to feel God’s word “in [his] heart as a burning fire” and could not be silent ( Jeremiah 20:9 ). Come Follow Me Lesson 41 Introduction: How do the words of Isaiah bring you joy and hope for the future? During Christ’s day, he read to the people in the synagogue the words found in Isaiah 61:1–2 , then He told them that what they heard he read was fulfilled that day in their ears. Luke 4:16–21 He is the Anointed One. He heals the broken hearted and preaches deliverance to the captives. He will create the new heavens and a new earth. Isaiah 65:17 He will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all nations. Isaiah 61:11 Isaiah preaches truth. In studying his words our eyes will be opened to what the Lord already has done, what He is currently doing, and what He will yet do for His people.   Personal Study: Fasting brings blessings: Is fasting a blessing or a burden to you?
