Come Follow Me 34

Come Follow Me Lesson 34

Introduction:

“I Will Declare What He Hath Done for My Soul”

Pay attention to the teachings that resonate with you.

While the Psalmists wrote of their emotions and great distress, they also wrote of their praises to the Lord for His goodness and mercy. How can their writings aid you when you are going through similar trials?

Psalm 86:5 They recognized that God is our Helper and to Him should we turn.

Personal Study: Redemption comes only through Jesus Christ.

God’s messages are for all of us, no matter our station or circumstances. verse 2

All things belong to God. He is the Giver of all good gifts. If we have wealth we should share it. Psalm 62:5–12

We should trust in God; it is He alone that can redeem us. Psalm 49:6–7

Knowing that God will redeem all of us from the power of the grave, brings me great hope and joy.
verse 15

Being poor or rich is really not the important thing. Following God is everything. Proverbs 28:6

Jesus Christ is the Great and the Last Sacrifice. He has atoned for our sins and for us to be resurrected. It is through faith and repentance that He can save us from our sins and bring us back into our Father’s presence. Alma 34:8–17

Men cannot be ransomed or redeemed by wealth—God alone can redeem a soul from the grave—The glory of a rich man ceases with his death.

Vs 1-2 The message of the gospel and the Plan of Salvation is for everyone.

Vs 15 All shall die, rich and poor alike. This life is fleeting and the possessions of it will come to naught. But God will raise us all in the resurrection. We cannot buy salvation. Jesus alone has paid the price.

Asaph speaks of the Second Coming—The Lord accepts the sacrifices of the righteous and will deliver them—Those whose conduct is right will see the salvation of God.

receive in the Temple. We have faith in Jesus Christ and that Zion, the Lord's city, will be established.

vs 6-7
Jesus is the Judge of all.

Vs 14-15 Any physical thing that we offer to God, He really doesn't have need of. It all belongs to Him together. He has asked us to offer a broken heart and a contrite Spirit. Doing His will instead of our own is the sacrifice that is most needful.

vs 20-21 The second great commandment is as important to the Lord as the first. We need to treat all people with love and respect.

Vs 23 Praise the Lord and do His will. He will save you.

Because of the Savior’s mercy, I can be forgiven of my sins.

To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bath-sheba.

12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
When we fully repent, we can again gain full favor with God and feel the joy of His good pleasure.

Vs 17 The offering we need to give is to change from our evil patterns, give up the things that we do wrong, and follow Jesus. We need to sorrow for our sins and have a desire and willingness to change. A broken heart and a contrite Spirit shows that we are sorry and that we honestly want to do what is right.
