Vs 19 The earth divided from one land into many during the days of Peleg.

Vs 2 These two sons sought to steal their father's throne. (Were their mothers sisters?)

Vs 5 David had more sons than the son that died as an infant and Solomon with Bathsheba.

Vs 16 And Mulek, who is found in The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ, is one of the sons of Zedekiah.

Vs 10 When we petition God with our righteous desires, He answers our prayers.

The sons of Joseph received Reuben’s birthright—Judah and his descendants became rulers in Israel—The line of Reuben down to the captivity is given—The Assyrians carry the Reubenites, Gadites, and half of Manasseh into captivity.

Vs 1 I was under the impression that the birthright was given to Joseph because he was the son of Rachel who was Jacob's first love, the one he thought he was marrying first. But Jacob did marry Leah first, and Reuben was his firstborn. He lost the birthright through immorality.

Vs 2 Although the rulers came through Judah's line, Joseph had the birthright.

The sons of Levi, including David’s singers, are listed—The responsibilities of Aaron and his descendants are given—Levite cities are designated in the areas of the various tribes.

Vs 10 Azarahiah, Priest in the temple Solomon built.

Vs 15 Jehozadak taken into captivity by Nebuchadnezzar.

Vs 31-32 The sons of Levi officiate in various capacities as priesthood holders.

Vs 13 Seek counsel from the Lord, and from the law and the prophets.

David is anointed king in Hebron—He takes Zion, the City of David—His valiant warriors are named and their deeds recounted.

Vs 3-5, 7 David became King and took the City of David from the Jebusites.

Vs 9-10 How do we wax greater and greater? By being the servants of the Lord and His children.

Vs 18-19 David at this time had the same, faith, zeal, and dedication as Urihah the Hittite had.

David’s mighty men are cataloged—The armies of the tribes of Israel join David at Hebron—Israel rejoices because of King David.

Vs 2 They were skilled in their delivery, using either the right hand or the left. They must have practice to gain double dominance.

David fetches the ark from Kirjath-jearim—Uzza is slain by the Lord when he steadies the ark—The house of Obed-edom prospers because they care for the ark.

Vs 9-14 This thing I do not understand, but need to trust that it will all be okay. I believe that Uzza's heart was right in wanted to protect the Ark of the Covenant, and I know that the Lord judges us by the intent of our hearts as well as our actions. If it were not so, I'd despair. Yet I have hope for myself and for Uzza as well.

David marries wives, begets children, and defeats the Philistines; his fame spreads to all nations.

David prepares a place for the ark—The Levites bring the ark to Jerusalem—They sing and minister before the Lord.

Vs 12-15 This more directly answers my question about Uzza. Only the tribe of Levi was to handle and transport the ark of the covenant. The arrangements to bring it back should have included the priests.

Vs 26-29 The Levites carriaed the ark into the city of David with singing, dancing and rejoicing. David joined in the dancing and celebration. Michal, his wife and Saul's daughter, despised him.

People offer sacrifices and praise the Lord—David delivers a psalm of thanksgiving—He praises the Lord—Asaph, Obed-edom, Zadok, and others minister before the Lord.

Vs 7-36 David offered a Psalm of Praise to the Lord when the Ark was again brought to the City of Daivd.

Nathan first approves David’s building of a house of the Lord, then restrains him—David’s son will build the temple—The triumph of Israel is foretold—David thanks the Lord for His goodness to Israel.

Vs 10-14 David was instructed to not build a temple at that time, or buid a house to the Lord. But the Lord assured David that He would build Him a house.

David's son chosen to build the House of the Lord.

Vs 16-27 David is humbled by God's grace and acknowledges His mercy and kindness to his housed.

David subdues all the adversaries of Israel and reigns in justice over the people.

The Ammonites insult David’s messengers and plan war against Israel—David defeats the Ammonites and the Syrians.

Vs 1-4 What a foolish thing was done here. Instead of accepting a gift with graciousness, they reciprocated with malice and hostility. Whereas David was sending condolences, they chose destruction for themselves.

Vs 13 This spoke Joab and his brother as they prepared for battle against their enemies.

The Ammonites are overcome—Israel defeats the Philistines.

Vs 1 What David supposed to join in this war?

David sins by numbering Israel—The Lord sends pestilence upon the people—David offers sacrifices and the plague is stayed.

Vs 24-28 David made an offering to the Lord. He had sinned, and the people had suffered because of it. To make a sacrifice, we need to give up something ourselves. David paid the cost of the land and the animals to be sacrificed.

David prepares gold, silver, brass, iron, stone, and cedar wood for the temple—He charges Solomon to do the work of building it.

Vs 7-11 David lets Solomon know that he is the one to build the Lord's house, because he has peace in his time.

Vs 12-13 David instructs Solomon to be wise and to keep the commandments, so that he and his people will be blessed.

Vs 17-19 David commands his people to help Solomon build the temple. They can show their gratitude to the Lord for the peace that they have by building His house.

Solomon is made king—The Levites are numbered and assigned their various religious duties.

The sons of Aaron and the rest of the sons of Levi are divided into groups and assigned their duties by lot.

The Levite singers and musicians are assigned their duties by lot.

The Levites are assigned as porters—They have charge of the treasures, serve as officers and judges, and conduct the outward business pertaining to the Israelites.

The officers who serve the king are named—The princes of the tribes of Israel are set forth.

David assembles the leaders of Israel—Solomon is appointed to build the temple—David exhorts Solomon and the people to keep the commandments—David gives Solomon the pattern and materials for the temple.

Vs 2-10 King David speaks to His people and to His Son Solomon. The Lord chose David and then Solomon to be rulers of the people. If they remember the Lord to serve Him, He will bless them forever.

Vs 20 David again tells Solomon to fear nor be dismayed, but build the temple and lead the people. The Lord God will be with him.

Vs 21 Solomon would have the help of many good men to build the temple.

All Israel makes a liberal offering for the temple—David blesses and praises the Lord and instructs the people—David dies—Solomon reigns as king—The books of Nathan and Gad are mentioned.

Vs 1,4 David petitions the people to help his son Solomon and to sacrifice of their own subtance for the adorning of the temple.

Vs 6, 9 The people offered willingly and with perfect heart to the work of the Lord.

Vs 10-23 This is a powerful prayer of praise from David to our God. He acknowledges that all things belong to the Lord and even when they are giving of their abundance, it belonged to the Lord all along. He offers praise and gratitude and asks His people to as well. Solomon is again anointed king.

Vs 25 Solomon was blessed as king to govern Israel well.
