Introduction:

Zion is the pure in heart. When people dwell in righteousness and there is no poor among them, you find Zion.

Individual Study:

What do we need to build Zion? (See Moses 7: 18-19, 53)

Be of one heart and one mind? What does it mean to be of one heart and one mind?

Alleviate poverty.

Teach righteousness.

Build a righteous city.

Love your neighbor as yourself; even think more of others than of self (See Philippians 2:1-5)

Don’t do things to promote yourself above others.

Be humble and meek, and esteem others better (or before) yourself.

Have a mind and heart like Jesus.

(Read 4 Nephi 1: 15-18)

No contention in all the land.

Love of God dwelling in hearts of all the people.

Absolutely no evil: No envyings, nor strifes, nor tumults, nor whoredoms, nor lyings, nor murders, nor any manner of lasciviousness

Dwell together in happiness.

No robbers, nor murderers...no –ites.

All are children of God and heirs to the kingdom of God.

Blessed and prospered people.

No contention.

(D&C 97:21)

People rejoice.

Pure in heart.

(D&C 105: 5)

Zion built upon principles of the law of the celestial kingdom.

Readings: Moses 7:1-25:

vs 3-4: Enoch was transfigured (clothes upon with glory) and talked with the Lord face to face.

(Were the people of Shum the people of Sumeria or Sumer?)

Enoch prophesied that the people of Canaan would destroy the people of Shum.

vs. 8 Skin of blackness came upon children of Canaan. (Is this the seed of Cain?) vs 22 The seed of Cain was black. They didn’t have place with the people of the Lord.

vs. 10-11 Enoch commanded to teach gospel of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, repentance, baptism, and receiving the Holy Ghost.

vs. 12 He did not preach to the people of Canaan. Why?

Vs 16: Lord’s people dwelt in Righteousness.

Personal Study Continued:

The entire City of Zion and all the people therein were translated. The city was taken up by God and preserved from the wickedness of the world, because of the righteousness of the people.

3 Nephi 28:4–9, 15–18, 39–40 Good description of what it means to be translated and what happens with translated beings.

Heavenly Father and Jesus weep with us when we are sad and have joy with us when we are progressing and happy.

In the last days, God’s elect are being gathered. How can we assist in the gathering?

Readings: Moses 7:1-26-69:

vs 27 Father loves us: Sends angels and prophets and the Holy Ghost to teach, guide, and keep us safe.

Vs 28-33 God loves all people of His creating. This is beyond comprehension. But He is merciful, kind, loving and forgiving. He weeps over His lost children.

What makes Him weep? That his children are without affection and do not love each other and do not love Him. (See vs 33)

vs 37 All the righteous will weep for those who are lost.

Vs 40 The heavens wept over those who followed Lucifer in premortality; they wept over those lost in the flood; and they weep over the world today.

Vs 41 Enoch was shown the inhabitants of the world and their wickedness. He also wept. He was able to see the children of men as God does and feel His love for them. His soul was pained and He wept.

Vs 42- 47

Enoch saw Noah build an ark. He saw all the people’s of the earth destroyed, except the small part of Noah’s family. He felt bitterness and did not want to be comforted. But God called upon him to rejoice, and He showed Enoch the coming of the Savior of the world.

Enoch looked forward to the blood of the Righteous being shed, that all they that mourn may be sanctified and have eternal life. He wanted salvation available to us all.

Vs 47 Enoch saw the Lord’s mortal ministry.

Vs 60 Jesus promised Enoch that He would come again upon the earth in the last days.

Vs 61 Great wickedness and darkness upon the earth before the Lord’s Second Coming.

He will preserve His people.

Vs 62-

The Lord will hasten His work and sweep together His people. We have to be prepared and ready. He will have us again be a people that will build up Zion, the New Jerusalem. Gain faith to do it and be a part of it. Pray like Enoch and others did.

Vs 63 Enoch’s Zion and the New Jerusalem will meet together.

Vs 64 the Earth will rest for a thousand years. (This will be a busy time. God’s work will continue, but we will all have a rest from wickedness and evil.)

Vs 65 Enoch saw Jesus dwelling with us on the earth in the Millennium
